Bruce Willis ‘Stepping Away’ From Acting Following Aphasia Diagnosis

Famed actor Bruce Willis is retiring from acting due to medical issues.

Earlier today (Mar. 30) the family of well-known actor Bruce Willis, 67, shared that he is “stepping away” from the film/television industry after recently being “diagnosed with aphasia.” Loved ones of the “Red” actor all shared the same statement via their media accounts that read,

“To Bruce’s amazing supporters, as a family we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities. As a result of this and with much consideration Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him.”

The statement continues,

“This is a really challenging time for our family and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion and support. We are moving through this as a strong family unit, and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him. As Bruce always says, “Live it up” and together we plan to do just that.

Bruce Willis has been a part of the entertainment industry since the 70s and has since appeared in over 70 films. Some of his most popular films are “ The Sixth Sense,” “Pulp Fiction,” “Last Man Standing,” and “Hart’s War.” He has received numerous accolades throughout his career, including a Golden Globe, two Primetime Emmy Awards, and two People’s Choice Awards. He also earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2006. After the shocking news was shared, many fans took to Twitter to show their appreciation for Bruce Willis and his work.
