Traci Braxton’s Husband, Kevin, Is Allegedly Holding A Virtual Funeral Service Against Her Wishes + Source Claims He’s Trying To Cash In On Her Name
Traci Braxton’s husband, Kevin Surratt, is allegedly holding a funeral service for her against her family’s wishes.

The late reality star’s husband and management team reportedly put together a virtual service, which is expected to stream today (Mar. 31).
Sources close to the Braxtons claim that Traci didn’t want a funeral, and her sisters respected her decision. The source said:
“Traci did not want a funeral or wake. She did not want people looking all over her body. She specifically requested to be immediately cremated… There was a Zoom meeting that made it clear about what she wanted, and now her husband is trying to cash in on her name.”
A viewing for the recording artist–who recently passed away from esophageal cancer at 50–was conducted yesterday (Mar. 30). The Braxton sisters and their mother, Evelyn Braxton, were said to have not shown up. Their father, Michael Conrad Braxton, was allegedly in attendance; however, he was seated in the fourth row after being turned away at the door.

Kevin, who arranged the viewing, told a different version of events. He explained:
“My father-in-law and brother-in-law came in briefly. [The sisters] did not show up. [Traci] explained everything to the funeral home. I was with my wife… more than anybody in this world. I know my wife, and when she got cancer, we really started to communicate about funeral plans and I was still trying to find treatments for her.”
He continued:
“I went to every single one of her doctor appointments throughout our entire marriage. That’s how we were, and now they’re treating me like a [deadbeat] husband. None of it is true. I was meeting her wishes. Traci made our son the executor of her estate because she knew [her family] wouldn’t come after him. They’d come after me.”
Traci’s former manager is allegedly helping Kevin with the service.
Another source said that Traci’s team contacted gospel singers Kim Burell and Byron Cage to perform at the funeral.

Byron Cage attends the 33rd annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards at the Orleans Arena on March 24, 2018 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“They pulled out when they realized the sisters weren’t involved.”
The source added:
“A barcode is required for entry. It’s a whole production.”
Details about Traci’s memorial were released yesterday (Mar. 30).

A source that previously told an outlet Traci was cremated stated:
“Nobody ever called to ask the family anything. No one called her mom, her father, her sisters to say, ‘What do you guys think – of anything.'”
Toni Braxton appeared on The Tamron Hall Show to discuss her sister’s passing. Although she mentioned an upcoming birthday celebration for her deceased sibling, she never mentioned a funeral service.
