Loni Love Addresses ‘The Real’ Being Canceled After 8 Seasons: I Had To Console A Lot Of Crew & Fans

Loni Love is speaking out following the news that ‘The Real’ has been canceled!

“The Real” vet, Loni Love, 50, says she is thankful for the people who have reached out to her after it was reported that the daytime show has been canceled. Loni Love recently took to social media to share her thoughts on the matter. She wrote,

With the news of The Real ending I had to console a lot of crew and fans this weekend.. I’ve been in this business a long time and understand it but it still warms my heart that so many have reached out to me.. we still have new episodes til June 3rd!!! #TheReal”

As previously reported, it was announced on Friday (Apr.8) that after 8 seasons, “The Real” has been canceled. The program’s current 8th season will be its final one as the show’s core station group, the Fox Stations, has opted not to renew it for next season. A final air date has yet to be determined.

theJasmineBRAND exclusively broke the story last month when rumors of the show’s cancellation were revealed to us from an inside source. While the specific reason for the cancellation hasn’t been confirmed, it’s speculated that ratings played a part in its end.

At the time, Loni Love gave an update on the status of the show in our comments section on IG. She wrote,

Following the cancellation news officially breaking, Loni took to Twitter on Friday (Apr.8) to share her initial thoughts, even stating that “Covid costs” may have played a role in the talk show getting axed. She wrote,
“In the end The Real cast & crew did everything we could to scale the show down..We shot 7-8 shows in 3 days, no audience, made a conference room into a studio, but in my opinion Covid costs killed this show.. it’s been a great ride and thanks to the viewers for 8 great seasons!”
When “The Real” premiered in 2013, its panel of co-hosts included Tamera Mowry, Jeannie Mai, Tamar Braxton, Adrienne Bailon and Loni Love. Since then, Tamar Braxton and Tamera Mowry have parted ways with the show, as did one-time co-host Amanda SealesGarcelle Beauvais has been a co-host on the show since 2020.
