Loni Love Addresses ‘The Real’ Being Canceled After 8 Seasons: I Had To Console A Lot Of Crew & Fans
Loni Love is speaking out following the news that ‘The Real’ has been canceled!
“The Real” vet, Loni Love, 50, says she is thankful for the people who have reached out to her after it was reported that the daytime show has been canceled. Loni Love recently took to social media to share her thoughts on the matter. She wrote,
“With the news of The Real ending I had to console a lot of crew and fans this weekend.. I’ve been in this business a long time and understand it but it still warms my heart that so many have reached out to me.. we still have new episodes til June 3rd!!! #TheReal”

As previously reported, it was announced on Friday (Apr.8) that after 8 seasons, “The Real” has been canceled. The program’s current 8th season will be its final one as the show’s core station group, the Fox Stations, has opted not to renew it for next season. A final air date has yet to be determined.
theJasmineBRAND exclusively broke the story last month when rumors of the show’s cancellation were revealed to us from an inside source. While the specific reason for the cancellation hasn’t been confirmed, it’s speculated that ratings played a part in its end.

At the time, Loni Love gave an update on the status of the show in our comments section on IG. She wrote,
“Yep I asked The Studio if it your report was true.. they said no decision has been made yet…. So maybe your source is a competitor that wants the show to go away.. There are two new Black shows coming on Fox maybe your source wants to do this to stir the pot .. either way there are crew members effected and plans need to be made!!!! We will see soon!!!”

“In the end The Real cast & crew did everything we could to scale the show down..We shot 7-8 shows in 3 days, no audience, made a conference room into a studio, but in my opinion Covid costs killed this show.. it’s been a great ride and thanks to the viewers for 8 great seasons!”
