Adele Fires Las Vegas Residency Creative Team, Singer Hopes New Staff Will Help Save Postponed Las Vegas Residency
Superstar singer Adele has reportedly parted ways with her longtime creative team.
In January of this year, Adele, 33, posted an emotional video announcing the postponing of her Las Vegas Residency debut. Citing “Covid” and “delivery delays” as the reasons behind the postponement, the singer swore to fans the show would premiere by mid-2022. Now, reports state the “Easy On Me” songstress has recently fired the creative team originally slated to design the residency set, claiming “creative differences” as the cause of the split. According to reports, everything originally planned for the show has been canned and the set will be designed from scratch with new creative directors taking lead.
During the time her residency was set to premiere, multiple reports of Adele‘s unhappiness with the show began to circulate in the media. Sources claimed Adele argued loudly with set designer Esmeralda Devlin over the staging and production of the set. Esmeralda was responsible for designing Adele’s tour set in 2016 and in 2018.

Reportedly, there was a constant stream of changes to the Las Vegas show while Esmeralda was on board. One source claimed the English pop singer had no clear vision for the residency stating:
“In spite of the set costing millions to put together, Adele was unhappy with the result, and she made her feelings very clear to Es [Esmeralda Devlin]….She was already nervous and the falling-out sent her spiralling into a panic because she was desperate that everything should be perfect.”

Reportedly, another source said:
“There was no real clarity around what Adele wanted for the show because of the endless changes being made to the production….It seemed that while she has always preferred a stripped-back performance, she was under some pressure to come up with a huge extravaganza.”
Despite starting from scratch, reports suggest that Adele still plans to launch the show by the end of July or early August as previously announced. An official announcement on the show’s premiere date has yet to be released.
