Kenan Thompson’s Comedy Series “Kenan” Dropped By NBC After Two Seasons
Sad news for Kenan Thompson and the cast of Kenan.
According the reports, the comedian’s scripted comedy show, which debuted on NBC in 2021, has been cancelled by the network. Kenan, which starred Kenan Thompson alongside Don Johnson, Chris Redd, Dani, and Dannah Lane, followed Atlanta morning talkshow host Kenan as he attempts to raise two daughters as a single father.
Actor and comedian Kenan Thompson, 44, has been the performer behind many hilarious TV moments over his extensive career. As a teen, Kenan Thompson made a comedic name for himself, starring in the hit film Good Burger as well as Nickelodeon’s popular comedy sketch show All That. The entertainer subsequently spent time working at every jokester’s dream job, as a skit comedian on the comedy series Saturday Night Live.
Reportedly, Kenan’s short lived self titled scripted series was axed due to low ratings. Neilson standings reportedly showed that the series second season averaged a 0.4 rating among adults 18-49 and 2.4 million total viewers, which “include a week’s worth of delayed viewing where available”. Additionally, reports claim that NBC is gearing up to present their 2022 – 2023 lineup to New York City advertisers. As a result, several low rating television shows were canceled by NBC. Kenan has not made any public comments about the shows cancelation at this time.
