Former NBA Star Carlos Boozer Recalls Prince Renting Out His LA Mansion For $1 Million: He Ripped Out Every Single Thing In My House & Wired Me An Extra $500,000!

NBA star Carlos Boozer reveals that he once rented out his 18,000 square-foot LA mansion to Prince!

During a recent interview the 40-year-old athlete recalled the infamous moment when his realtor told him someone wanted to rent out his LA pad. Ahead of his first season with the Utah Jazz, Carlos Boozer purchased an 18,000-square-foot mansion in Bel-Air. He was reportedly back in Utah when his realtor gave him a call and told him someone was interested in renting the home. At first, Boozer wasn’t sure he wanted to rent out his brand new mansion. He explained,

“I’m like, ‘No, I didn’t even spend no time in my house.'”

Then he heard the number the mystery person was willing to spend. And quickly changed his mind.

“‘Well he’s willing to pay $95,000 a month,’ and I was like, ‘Oh’.”

He continued,

“I didn’t know who he was until he got out the car and I was like, ‘that’s Prince right?’ and she was like ‘yeah.'”

Carlos Boozer said that when he went back to LA to see his physical therapist, he wanted to stop by his L.A. pad and reached out to Prince, however the legendary singer did not return Boozer’s phone calls so he decided to drop by. That’s when he saw how Prince transformed his mansion.

“I pulled up to the house and I had these two golden lions on the gate and it wasn’t there…He literally ripped out every single thing in my house. Everything was purple and black everywhere.. He turned the weight room into a nightclub with a disco ball.”   

Boozer says that when he finally got in touch with Prince, the “When Doves Cry” singer was in Asia on tour. He explains,

“[Prince] is like, ‘Booz don’t worry, I got you.’ He wired me $500 grand to ease my mind. He was like, ‘when I move out, it’ll be like I was never there.'”

Carlos Boozer says by the end of Prince’s lease, he realized how wealthy the iconic singer was. He said,

“He rents my crib out for a year. Redecorated the entire house. Then wires me half a mil. And when I got there at the end of his lease, it was like he was never there..That’s how much money prince had. “
