Megan Thee Stallion Files Trademark Papers For “TRAUMAZINE”, Suspected To Be Name Of Rapper’s Upcoming Sophomore Album
Rap artist Megan Thee Stallion is making legal moves to expand her brand.
New court documents reveal the 28-year-old musician recently submitted trademark papers to legally use the name “TRAUMAZINE”. On the document filed last Friday (May 27th), Megan Thee Stallion’s company, Hot Girl Trademark Holdings LLC, is listed as the trademark owner.
One trademark attorney took to twitter, suspecting that the name could possibly be the title of Megan’s forthcoming sophomore album. The Houston native announced last month the project was 95% finished.
Uses for the trademark listed on the document, includes branding merchandise such as CD’s, hats, calendars, audio and video recordings, and performances among many other things. The expected uses listed are certainly needed if planning to use the name for an upcoming album. Megan has released two singles from her next music project thus far, a Lil Kim inspired track titled “Plan B” and a pop collaboration titled “Sweetest Pie” with Dua Lipa.
Seemingly combining the terms trauma and magazine, “TRAUMAZINE”, is fitting considering the rappers turbulent personal life that has played out in the media over the past couple of years. Megan’s had very public beefs playout as of late, that the rap artist has verbally stated were traumatizing for her. The self proclaimed “hot girl’s” fall out with 1501 label owners Carl Crawford and J. Prince have lead to a few explosive social media exchanges.
Additionally, Megan is seemingly still healing from being shot in the foot last year, allegedly by her former suspected boo, rapper Tory Lanez. Megan and Tory’s case is still ongoing, as Tory has maintain innocence of any wrongdoing in the matter.
However, it seems only time will reveal if we’ll be getting a “TRAUMAZINE” album. Megan’s next body of work will be a follow-up to her debut album Good News. The artist released a freestyle EP Something For The Hotties while fans await her next release.
Do you think “TRAUMAZINE” could be the name of Megan’s upcoming project? Tell us in the comments!
