Xzibit Says He’s Still Owed Money For MTV Series ‘Pimp My Ride,’ Threatens Legal Action

It looks like Xzibit is coming after Viacom and is ready to be paid what he’s owed!
On Tuesday (June 29) the 47-year-old rapper/actor/tv host took to his Instagram and revealed that he is still owed a substantial amount of money from his hit tv show, “Pimp My Ride.” In a lengthy caption, Xzibit accused Viacom of being dishonest and withholding money from him. As you may already know, Xzibit was the face and host of the MTV series.  Xzibit shared what appeared to be a picture of legal documents displaying a monetary breakdown of revenue and expenses from the show. He captioned the post,

“While I’m at it, hey @viacom_intl why is it you’ve made millions off the show #PimpMyRide I carried on my back and found ways to cut me out? Like saying I would get percentages of all merch sold let alone streaming(which wasn’t even in the contract) and putting in the fine print ‘with my name and likeness’ then proceed to take my ‘name and likeness’ off of ALL the merchandise including dvd sales after season 1? To top that you guys went back and EDITED all of my music out of ALL entire seasons in order to avoid paying me for my publishing.”

Xzibit hosted the MTV series ‘Pimp My Ride’ from 2004 to 2007. In each episode, a young vehicle owner would present their car in poor condition and by the end of the episode, the vehicle was both restored and customized, often times in a jaw-dropping– eccentric way. The show appealed to a diverse audience and remained popular throughout its run, but was abruptly canceled in 2007. Xzibit claims that he’s yet to receive the full amount of royalties that he’s entitled to, despite being an important part of the reality series.

Viacom has yet to address Xzibit’s allegations.
