NeNe Leakes Claims Standing Up For Herself Is The Reason Wendy Williams Had Her Talk Show W/ Tom Arnold Pulled: Wendy Didn’t Like It

NeNe Leakes and Tom Arnold say Wendy Williams is to blame for their talk show being dismissed.

According to reports, “Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum NeNe Leakes and actor Tom Arnold were prepared to collaborate as co-hosts for a daytime talk show produced by the same people as “The Wendy Williams Show.” However, Tom Arnold believes a purse feud between Wendy Williams, 57, and NeNe Leakes, 55, is the reason their talk show never aired.

Arnold, 63, claimed the purse controversy happened in 2014 after Leakes posted a photo of her custom Hermes Birkin bag. Wendy Williams made note of the bag and asked viewers on her recently canceled talk show and Twitter:

 “Hot Question: What do think about NeNe Leakes defacing her Birkin bag?”

Leakes found out about the now-deleted tweet and responded to Williams. She said,

“I am sure you’re scared I will take your place. I know you have heard! Ummhmm wink wink! BE SCARED!”

According to Arnold, Leakes’ response cost them their gig. However, Leakes feels like it was more to their show being canceled besides the purse commentary. Leakes said:

“Wendy saw that I had defaced my Birkin bag, and yes, she posted a comment on her show’s social media page about it.”

Leakes continued:

“But that wasn’t the trigger. The trigger was what she said about it and me on her ‘Hot Topics’ segment.”

Leakes added:

“Kim Kardashian had done the same thing around the same time, ‘defaced’ her Birkin bag. Wendy said Kim can do that because she had the money to do such a thing, but basically I didn’t.”

Leakes recalled:

“I responded by saying something like, ‘Now, Wendell, I have four Birkin bags, and I can do the same.’”

Leakes said:

“Wendy didn’t like it. Debmar-Mercury pulled the deal and stopped all communication with me. Our deal went dead.”

As previously reported, Charlamagne tha God accused Williams and her ex-husband Kevin Hunter of blocking Leakes talk show. Leakes said:

“I did think so.”

Leakes added:

“I don’t think we talked about that… I think it was her husband…Well, you know, things happen. I think that timing is everything, and maybe it wasn’t my time.”
