‘Big Brother’ Viewers Are Asking For Producers To Step In Over The Mistreatment Of Houseguest Taylor Hale, A Black Woman: This Isn’t Enjoyable For Fans
“Big Brother” alums and fans of the long-running reality competition series want justice for Taylor Hale.
On July 6 “Big Brother” came back for its 24th season. Even though the series just kicked off for this go-around, it seems like many people are already over the drama. Viewers of the series are calling out the houseguests for the mistreatment of one of their fellow competitors, Taylor Hale, a 27-year-old black woman from Michigan. Despite Taylor Hale’s best efforts to interact with her housemates, they have reportedly subjected her to isolation and bullying for unknown reasons.
hope the guilt they felt for two seconds swallows each of them whole once they watch everything back and realize how nasty they were to taylor. classic sleepover talk behind your back when you leave mean girl treatment. #bb24 pic.twitter.com/G5r5CwYhNm

After watching the ill-treatment Taylor Hale has been receiving many alums of the famed series called out the program for the mistreatment of its black competitors. Xavier Prather, who was a member of an all-black alliance known as The Cookout before winning Season 23, took to Twitter and said,
“Members of the black community (especially black women) and other people of color stand no chance in the Big Brother House due to the perpetuation of micro-aggressions and unconscious biases which plague our society.”
He continued,
“In the future, I hope it doesn’t take a ‘Cookout’ for black houseguests (or any POC houseguest) to finally escape the feeling of being ostracized within the Big Brother House for simply existing.”
He added,
“Change is a MUST! Until then, I know my fellow Michigander will keep her head high and stand tall like the Queen that she is.”

Azah Awasum, who also previously competed on BB, tweeted,
I made a cognizant effort to “dial back” in the house for these exact reasons.Dark skinned women always have this in the back of our heads. CBS teaches about racial microagressions but a section on colorism would be beneficial.Taylor’s light will shine outside this house. #bb24
Janelle Pierzina, another BB alum, tweeted a video of Hale crying because of the way she’s being treated and said,
“Let’s make the beautiful quiet women who has literally done nothing but breathe, cry and make her feel like shit. She is crying after hearing Poloma talk crap about her. So fricken sad”
