Update: Chris Brown Denies Skipping Out On Benefit Concert At The Last Second, Singer To Make A 6-figure Donation To A Houston-Based Charity In Hopes Of Rectifying The Issue

Update: Chris Brown is trying to make things right after he allegedly skipped out on a Houston benefit concert.

According to reports, Chris Brown is claiming that despite what recent reports say, he didn’t bail on a Texas-based benefit concert hours before the event was scheduled to start. Sources close to the singer/rapper shared that his legal team actually emailed a letter to event organizers on March 17, informing them Chris Brown would no longer be able to attend/perform.

Reportedly, the letter was sent two days before the event occurred and Chris pulled out because Bryson Tiller, who was also set to perform at the event, had been removed from the lineup without a viable replacement. According to the letter, this was a violation of the contract Chris had in place, so he opted out of the event.

Insiders claim that both parties have been in negotiations to settle the situation and Chris has offered to make a 6-figure donation to a Houston-based charity. However, the agreement has yet to be finalized.

Original Story: R&B singer Chris Brown is being sued over a missed performance.

Reportedly, the “No Guidance” artist was paid over $1 million to appear alongside Monica and other artists at the One Night Only benefit concert in Houston back in March of last year. However organizers were reportedly forced to issue thousands of refunds after Chris Brown, 33, cancelled at the last minute. Organizers for the event claim the musician is refusing to refund them, and are suing over the $2 million lost.

According to reports, the event was put together to aid Texas and Louisiana residents who lost homes during hurricanes Ida and Nichols. One organizer for the event, real estate and construction executive LeJuan Bailey, recently addressed the situation. In a press interview, she stated:

“I am disturbed and troubled that my efforts to raise funds for residents of Houston, Southeast Texas, and Louisiana, whose homes were destroyed by recent Hurricanes, were thwarted by Chris Brown, who refused to show up after the show had been announced and tickets sold,”

She continued:

“I sponsored this concert out of love and respect for residents who were in need. Acting in good faith, I am appalled that Chris Brown refuses to refund me my money….”

Bailey continued on, accusing the “Warm Embrace” singer of disrespecting the city with his upcoming tour performance. Joined by rap star Lil Baby, Brown’s Breezy tour is to slated hit the southern state next month. She stated:

“He has the unmitigated gall to take my money, stand up the residents of Houston, then return to the city to perform on August 17th. My message to Chris Brown: we will not sit back and allow you to disrespect the victims of Hurricane Ida and Nicholas in need.”

The Houston realtor additionally stated she’s made multiple attempts to settle the situation with Brown’s legal team. However after not receiving a response, Bailey says she’s forced to take legal action.
