Usher Confesses His Longtime Friend & Mentee Justin Bieber Is ‘Doing Great’ Month After Revealing Ramsay Hunt Diagnosis
Usher has a confession that Justin Bieber fans are sure to love: the “Peaches” singer is “doing great” following his recent health diagnosis.
According to Usher,
“As an artist, I think we are all going to experience some things that people may not necessarily understand. I think [Justin] has obviously taken the world on a journey. I am happy that I was at the beginning of and I am still a part of to this day, as a friend.”
“He is doing great. Seeing him on vacation, we managed to hang out with each other, and I think that whatever he may be experiencing right now it’s actually really great to see that he has the support from his fans and his family.”
As previously reported, Justin Bieber had to cancel several stops on his recent tour after being diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome. The condition caused him to lose all mobility on the right side of his face.

Justin Bieber apologized to frustrated fans in a video posted to his Instagram page, explaining that he was physically unable to perform. Unable to blink or use his mouth or nose on the right side of his face, he said,
“I wish this wasn’t the case but obviously my body is telling me that I’ve got to slow down and I hope you guys understand. I will be using this time to rest and relax and get back to 100 percent so that I can do what I was born to do.”
Despite the challenging year, Justin promised his 240 million Instagram followers that he would return as soon as possible and his current state was just temporary. The “Yummy” singer said,
“We don’t know how much time it will be, but it’s going to be okay. I hope and I trust God and I trust that this is all for a reason. I’m not sure what that is right now but in the meantime I’m going to rest and I love you guys. Peace.”
The relationship between Usher and Justin dates back to 2009. The pair initially had a mentor-mentee relationship, which has stood the test of time as they remain great friends.
