Rapper JayDaYoungan’s Father Details Fatal Shooting, Claims Incident Was Not Gang Related & Says His Son Ambushed By 5 Gunmen

Recently deceased Louisiana rapper JayDaYoungan’s father is speaking up about his son’s murder.

According to reports, the rap star’s father, Kenyatta Scott, says that despite what people may think, his son was not involved with any gangs. The rap artist’s father is still recovering from gunshot wounds, but reportedly told police he believes jealousy is the reason his son was killed. As previously reported, JayDaYoungan, born Javorius Scott, was pronounced dead this past Wednesday (July 27), after succumbing to eight gunshot wounds while in his hometown of Bogalusa, Louisiana.

Reportedly, Scott stated that he and his son were sitting on their front porch when a black truck with three gun-wielding assailants rushed out of the vehicle. Subsequently, Scott and JayDaYoungan attempted to flee into the home, when two more armed individuals cut them off. Reports state that Scott attempted to protect his family, firing off a few rounds of his own before being shot twice in the arm. Though he was able to get away, reports state that JayDaYoungan was shot eight times, eventually passing away while being operated on at the hospital.

Police investigating the murder are reportedly looking for any kind of motive, specifically gang related/retaliation. However, Scott says his son was a young humble man not tied to any gangs. Instead, Scott believes JayDaYoungan’s death was a result of individuals who were jealous of his success. He also reportedly told police he doesn’t believe his son knew his murderers.

JayDaYoungan was only 24 at the time of his death. Police are still investigating, and have reportedly not made any IDs or arrests at this time.
