Bill Bellamy recently appeared on Angela Yee’s Lip Service podcast where he reflected on the legendary 1997 film How To Be A Player. Actor Bill Bellamy discussed how men and women felt about the plot of the movie. Bill Bellamy said:

“In a colorful firm way, so that people could digest it, but guys like the fact that I had so many, women were like, ‘you know what,He gotta get caught though.’”

Bellamy shared:

“‘Cause we had two endings to that movie. The one ending was that I got away with everything and the movie tanked. Women was like, hot! You know they do the little focus group thing? [They said] ‘F*ck that!’ They was mad.”

Bellamy continued:

“And then when [Dray] got caught they was like ‘okay, good.’

The 57-year-old  added:

“So then when they tested it with me getting caught the women — is shot up, so that’s when we knew we had a good movie.”

How To Be A Player is a Def Jam comedy film starring comedian Bellamy, the late Bernie Mac, and Natalie Desselle. The film is about Bellamy’s character, Dray, having a life goal to be a ladies’ man while maintaining a relationship with his girlfriend. However, one of the women Dray is messing with sets him up and he eventually gets caught following his multiple sex scandals. How To Be A Player reportedly made $14 million in the box office.
