Britney Spears and her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, are still at odds when it comes to their teenage sons, Sean and Jayden.

If you didn’t know, Brittney Spears and Kevin Federline’s controversial relationship began in 2004. The couple married near the fall of that year but ultimately divorced in 2007, after giving birth to their children in 2005 and 2006.

Following a tumultuous battle, Kevin Federline was later granted sole custody by the court, which was reportedly under the condition that Spears would still have access to visitation rights.

After the 2021 suspension of Brittney Spears’ 13-year conservatorship, initially put in place due to the 40-year-old’s alleged mental decline, Spears had the opportunity of seeing the kids more often.

Throughout the years, there have seemingly been quite a couple of agreements on the table in regards to Spears and Federline’s children. At one point, it was reported that the co-parents had 50/50 legal responsibility but Spears’ parental percentage was said to have been lowered to 30% in 2019, handing over the majority (70%) to Federline.

Last year, Spears shared a quick photo of her and the boys spending time together.

However, according to Federline, as of late, Sean and Jayden have decided not to see their mother at all for now.

In a recent interview, he opened up about Spears’ relationship with Sean and Jayden and how her emotional turmoil in the public eye has affected them.

Federline said:

“The boys have decided they are not seeing her right now. It’s been a few months since they’ve seen her. They made the decision not to go to her wedding. This whole thing has been hard to watch, harder to live through, harder to watch my boys go through than anything else. It’s been tough. It’s the most challenging thing I’ve ever had to do in my life.”

He went on to double down on the provocative photos that Spears has previously uploaded to her social media.

“I try to explain to them, ‘Look, maybe that’s just another way she tries to express herself.’ But that doesn’t take away from the fact of what it does to them. It’s tough. I can’t imagine how it feels to be a teenager having to go to high school.”

Subsequent to the 44-year-old’s comments, Spears spoke out, and it was clear that she wasn’t too happy about what was being told.

In an Instagram story, the “Oops!…I Did It Again” singer came back with a rebuttal at her baby’s father, stating that she gave their little ones everything and even alleging that her mother advised her to relinquish her mothering rights.

She then continued with a post, zoning more in on Federline’s mention of her nude images.

“[This is a] reminder that the trauma and insults that come with fame and this business not only affect me but my children as well !!!! I’m only human and I’ve done my best …. I honestly would like to share my TWO CENTS !!!! I daringly would like for the Federlines to watch the BIG BOOTY VIDEO !!! Other artists have made much worse when their children were extremely young !!!!”

To back up his indications of his ex-wife being unfit, clips of Spears and her children in a heated dispute a few years ago surfaced on an Instagram account that appears to be Federline.

In the hard-to-see video, Spears is recorded chastising her sons for not respecting her. Spears is furiously heard saying:

“You all need to start treating me like a woman with worth. I am a woman, okay? Be nice to me! Do you understand?”

It then jumps to other parts of a conversation with lots of back and forth, which is reportedly from a few years ago.

The caption read:

“As much as it hurts us, we decided as a family to post these videos the boys took when they were 11 & 12. This isn’t even the worst of it. The lies have to stop. I hope our kids grow up to be better than this. #NeverFearTruth.”

Of course, it has since been deleted. So far, there has been no word from Spears nor her husband, Sam Asghari, who originally responded to Federline in a series of stories of his own a couple of days ago.

“The boys are very smart and will be 18 soon to make their own decisions and may eventually realize the ‘tough’ part was having a father who hasn’t worked much in over 15 years as a role model.”

We’re hoping that all ends well with all parties involved.
