Update: Teddy Ray Died In Apparent Drowning, Comedian Found In Pool by Worker [Condolences]

Update: According to reports, comedian Teddy Ray’s cause of death was an apparent drowning. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office shared that they responded to a call Friday morning (Aug. 12) around 10 AM at a private residence in Rancho Mirage, where a maintenance worker reported finding a man floating in the swimming pool. Authorities arrived on the scene and found Teddy Ray dead in the pool.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, there were no obvious signs of foul play. However, it’s important to note that it’s unclear whose pool Teddy was found in, the Coroner says he lived in Gardena, CA — almost 3 hours away from where his body was found. Investigators are waiting for the final results from Teddy’s autopsy before determining an official cause of death.

According to reports, comedian/actor Teddy Ray has passed away at the age of 32. Teddy Ray was most known for his work on Russell Simmons’ digital comedy stream “All Def Digital” and for being a cast member on Nick Cannon’s “Wild ‘N Out.” The Los Angeles native had some acting credits under his belt as well and appeared in a few TV/Film projects such as “Scroll Wheel of Time,” “Perfectly Single,” and “BSU: Black Student Union.” Teddy Ray also hosted a podcast called “The Cali Kickback” with Lewis Ray. Details surrounding Teddy’s untimely death have yet to be released.

Teddy just celebrated his 32nd birthday on July 30.

After news broke about his passing, Teddy Ray trended on Twitter as fans and celebrities shared their shock. Issa Rae’s media company HOORAE tweeted:

“Rest in Power to our longtime creative collaborator and friend, Teddy Ray. Grateful for the energy you always brought to our projects and sets!”

Famed comedian Karlous said,
