Kanye West Addresses Controversy Surrounding His Yeezy Gap Line Being Sold In Trash Bags: I’m Not Here To Sit Up And Apologize About My Ideas
Consumers weren’t too pleased about the in-store presentation of Kanye West’s Yeezy Gap collection, but he doesn’t seem to have any plans on changing it!
Recently, a photo of the new clothing line hit the internet, and judging from its unconventional display, the Yeezy Gap pieces appeared to have been sold out of trash bags.

Following the image’s circulation throughout social media, Kanye West received loads of scrutiny, as he was then accused of poking fun at the homeless and using them for profiting purposes. However, Kanye West has since disputed those claims.
In a recent interview, the 45-year-old music mogul defended his creative approach to the fashion industry by stating he wasn’t about to “apologize” for his innovative effort of artistic expression.
When asked to share his thoughts on the public labeling Yeezy Gap’s rollout as insensitive to the less fortunate, West responded:
“I’m an innovator, and I’m not here to sit up and apologize about my ideas. That’s exactly what the media tries to do–make us apologize for any idea that doesn’t fall under, exactly, they way they want us to think.”

Despite the reports of his previous statements about the indigent being his “biggest inspiration for all design,” the super-producer argued that Yeezy Gap was, in no way, an intent to make a mockery and also denied the usage of disposal totes.
According to West, they were, instead, large construction bags, which were used to not only challenge society’s pretentious views on apparel but make shopping for the customers more convenient.
Due to his brand’s message being “misrepresented” and “misunderstood,” West continued with,
“This is, like, not a joke; this is not a game. This is not just some celebrity collaboration. This is my life. You know? I’m fighting for a position to be able to change clothing and bring the best design to the people.”
