Eminem – Super Bowl Halftime Show Performance Emmy Win Leaves Him 1 Award Away From Joining Exclusive List Of EGOT Winners

Rap star Eminem is on track to win a prestigious entertainer award!

With his recent daytime Emmy award win for his joint 2022 Super Bowl halftime performance, Marshall ‘Eminem‘ Mathers could potentially be an EGOT recipient. As of 2022 there are only 17 individuals who hold the honor. Individuals must win at least one Emmy award, one Grammy award, one Oscar award, and one Tony award to join the exclusive list.

Performing on stage this past February alongside Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige, and 50 Cent earned the 49-year-old his first ever daytime Emmy. The collaborators all received wins in the category of Best Outstanding Variety Special for the L.A. based performance. Slim Shady had already received an Oscar win for Best Original Song back in 2003 with his hit record “Lose Yourself”, which was featured on the 8 Mile soundtrack.

Additionally, Eminem has won 15 of the 44 Grammy awards he’s been nominated for during his extensive career. His most recent win for Best Collaboration came in 2015 for his song with pop star Rihanna titled “The Monster”. He also went home with the best rap album award that year with the release of his eighth studio album Marshall Mathers The LP2.

That leaves Eminem a Tony award shy of joining the likes of entertainer elites such as Whoopi Goldberg, John Legend, and Jennifer Hudson.

The Tony is awarded based on theater performance, so maybe one day we will see the Real Slim Shady hit the broadway stage!
