BET’s ‘106 & Park’ Former Hosts A.J. Calloway & Free Spark Reboot Rumors After Sharing Anniversary Posts Dedicated To The Music Video Series: I Think The Culture Needs A Little More Love Again

106 & Park may be coming back to our television screens!

On Sunday (Sept. 11) former 106 & Park host, A.J. Calloway took to Instagram to celebrate the hip-hop and R&B music video show’s 22nd anniversary. A.J. Calloway gave thanks to the show that made him who he is today, while also thanking his co-host Free. A.J. Calloway said:

“22 years ago today a show was born out of a little studio on the corner of 106 and Park Ave in NYC. We had no idea that is would have the global impact that it did. We were green in the television industry just trying to figure it out but at the same time always being fans of the culture! That was the key, to be truly in love with our people!”

The 48-year-old continued:

“Our culture, our clothes, our customs, our food, our music, everything about us! I have and will always be in love of the beauty of the direct descendants of Africa. I got sidetracked, listen I am saving hello to all of the original 106 crew and all those who blessed the stage and crew after us. @missfreemarie I got mad love for you and I know our story isn’t over you ready!? I think the culture needs a little more love again!”

The New Jersey native added:

“To the fans of 106 thank you for the constant love, we love you right back probably more than you love us! Have a blessed one people and raise one in the air today for 106 22 years old! #106andPark #AJCalloway #Free #BET”

Free, born Marie Antoinette Wright, fueled the reboot speculation by responding to the heart-moving post. Free, 54, said:

“From Free – @ajcalloway good morning and Happy 106 Anniversary DAY! somehow you continue to be the coolest, most charismatic guy I know. Who knows EVERYBODY lol love you DEEP And hell Yeah we got more work to do . 106 & Park debuted on BET on Sept. 11, 2000. A.J. & Free were the faces of the music video countdown show before departing in 2005.
