Khloe Kardashian Reveals To Sister Kim That Tristan Thompson Secretly Proposed Before Their Final Breakup: I’m Not Excited To Tell My Family

Tristan Thompson popped the question, but Khloé Kardashian wasn’t ready.

On Thursday’s episode of the Hulu series The Kardashians (Sept. 27), Khloé Kardashian revealed that she turned down a secret marriage proposal from Tristan Thompson, 31, in December 2020.

In her confessional, The Good American founder explained why she never told her family,

“I need to make sure this is a totally different relationship because I want to be proud to say I’m engaged to anyone and that’s why I said I’m not comfortable accepting this right now because I’m not excited to tell my family.”

This was shocking news to her sister Kim Kardashian, 41. The SKIMS founder said to Khloé Kardashian, 38, 

 

“The fact that he proposed, and you never told us, and I asked him months later.”

Kim Kardashian remembered asking the NBA free agent if he proposed to her sister with whom he shares a daughter with, True Thompson,4, a while back. She said Tristan Thompson responded with, 

“Oh, I did it months ago. She didn’t tell you guys?’

Kim Kardashian’s question to Tristan seemingly came around the time rumors of an engagement were reported. Neither Khloé nor Tristan confirmed if the stories were true, despite the Revenge Body alum wearing a massive diamond on her left ring finger in April 2021.

One reason that Khloé  may have kept the proposal a secret is that around the time Tristan asked her to marry him, he was also spotted at dinner with a mystery woman in December 2020.  

Khloé told her big sister how she felt Tristan may have taken the news,  

 

“As hurtful as that probably was for him to hear it was the truth. I’m not ever gonna accept something and give someone false hope.”

While she was strong enough to turn down the proposal, Khloé did say “yes” to having another child with him via surrogate. The news that they were having a baby boy was not without scandal. Khloé found out in January 2022 that Tristan was expecting his third child with Maralee Nichols. 

Throughout the episode, the family tries to help Khloé, who is still upset about Tristan’s cheating scandal, heal. Despite their rocky relationship, Khloé let Tristan visit their newborn in the hospital. Later, it was confirmed that Tristan and Khloé were off again.

The former Kocktails with Khloé star said that she is ready for a fresh start,

“Now that my son is here, I get to move on and I get to enjoy. It’s almost like I get to close that chapter and be done with this trauma and put it behind me.”
