Former ‘Real Housewives Of Potomac’ Star Monique Samuels Confirms She & Her Husband Chris Are Not Getting A Divorce Despite Rumors: We Are Simply Trying To Be Better

Former Real Housewives Of Potomac star Monique Samuels is setting the record straight when it comes to her marriage!

The Love & Marriage DC star took to Youtube on Monday (Oct. 17) to address the rumors that she and her husband Chris Samuels, 45, were getting a divorce after 10 years of marriage. While Monique Samuels, 39, admitted that her marriage with her husband was “struggling in some areas,” she confirmed that they are most definitely NOT getting a divorce.

Monique explained,

“It’s no secret that Chris and I have been struggling in some areas of our marriage and anybody who watched ‘Love & Marriage: DC’ last year, y’all saw the arguments, y’all saw everything that was going on.”

She continued,

“It was a lot of confusion, it was crazy building up to that 10-year marker of our marriage and when you’ve been married that long and when you have things that you’re like ‘Listen, this is being unmet or I’ve been unheard’ you start to get frustrated and it’s like ‘Oh my god, is this what life is going to be? I can’t take it anymore.’ So what y’all saw on ‘Love & Marriage: DC’ last season, it was my cry for help.”

Monique then explained that she often felt like the former NFL player wasn’t listening to her when she told him about her needs or certain things she had issues with within their marriage. She expressed that she has always been “100 percent” real on reality tv, to the point where she’s puts herself out there knowing “I’m going to be judged.”

She said,

“So we’ve done a great job at being transparent with everyone that’s either watched us on social media or on the show — on either show – the fact that people are praising a rumor of divorce or a possible dissolution of a marriage […] that’s sad that people were praising that, it’s sad that people were excited about it and then you know, you have a lot of people who love and support our family who are devastated.”

Both Monique and Chris go on to confirm that they are not getting a divorce nor separating.

“Without further explanation, everyone knows that when you say the words separation, that insinuates a divorce. Are Chris and I getting a divorce? No! We aren’t getting a divorce. Are we going our separate ways? Absolutely not, nobody said that. Have we filed a legal separation? No. Have we filed for divorce? No. Is there any document that proves any divorce filings? No. Have we separated to the extent of breaking up? No.”

The mother of three noted that they had wanted to show the process behind fixing and rebuilding their marriage as part of the upcoming season of “Love & Marriage: DC” however, they are now forced to give away the storyline since the divorce rumors surfaced. Monique says that instead of giving up on their marriage, they chose to go to counseling and work on themselves individually.

She revealed,

“We decided we were going to spend a couple of nights apart while we were on our counseling journeys. We’ve been communicating a lot better than what we have in a long time…We are most definitely still together, we haven’t given up on our marriage, we did not break up and we are not looking to divorce. We are simply trying to be better.”

Following the reports, the couple seemingly denied the allegations when Monique Samuels shared a short video clip on Instagram laughing off the separation rumors with her husband. Before the footage ends she shows off her large wedding ring to the camera. In part, her caption said,

“No better source than the actual source. Y’all already know how I roll. I give my own d*mn exclusives.”

Monique and Chris have been married for 10 years and share three children together, sons Christopher, 9, and Chase, 3, and daughter Milani, 7.
