Kanye West Documentary Pulled Following Antisemitic Comments + Kardashians Speak Out Against His Remarks: Hate Speech Is Never Okay Or Excusable
Looks like a Kanye West documentary won’t be coming to a screen near you anytime soon.
According to reports, film and television studio MRC has decided to shelve a completed documentary focused on Kanye West amid the controversial rapper’s recent antisemitic comments. In a statement released on Monday (October 24), CEOs Modi Wiczyk and Asif Satchu, as well as COO Scott Tenley, wrote,
“This morning, after discussion with our filmmakers and distribution partners, we made the decision not to proceed with any distribution for our recently completed documentary about Kanye West. We cannot support any content that amplifies his platform.”

The entertainment company’s leaders added that the “Donda” artist has helped “mainstream” antisemitism in today’s time. They shared,
“The silence from leaders and corporations when it comes to Kanye or antisemitism, in general, is dismaying but not surprising. What is new and sad, is the fear Jews have about speaking out in their own defense.”
Reportedly, Magnolia and Paramount were originally distribution partners on the Kanye “Ye” West project. When asked if the film was sent to any film festivals, an MRC representative responded that
“all activities are being pulled.”
The move also comes in the light of Ye’s ex-wife, socialite Kim Kardashian, along with her sisters, finally breaking their silence surrounding his antisemitic remarks. Khloé Kardashian, Kendall, and Kylie Jenner all shared the same post via their IG stories. The trio wrote,
“I support my Jewish friends and the Jewish people.”

Kim Kardashian shared a tweet via her official Twitter account and stated,
“Hate speech is never OK or excusable. I stand together with the Jewish community and call on the terrible violence and hateful rhetoric towards them to come to an immediate end.”

As previously reported, affiliates of the billionaire businessman have cut ties with Ye, 45, after he made claims that “Jews who control the media” are working to silence him, and are pushing detrimental agendas on Black people.

During the recently removed 3-hour interview with fellow rapper N.O.R.E., Ye made several claims that were highly criticized by the masses. Much of the conversation surrounded the Grammy-winning artist’s theories on the secret agendas of “Jewish Media,” and how they intentionally aid in the oppression of Black people.
Additionally, the father-of-four stated his opinions about the tragic death of George Floyd, making comments many have labeled “dangerous misinformation.” If you recall, in 2020 George Floyd was recorded on video dying under the knee of a police officer who is now serving jail time for the incident. Ye claimed a documentary made by known conservative Candace Owens proved that the late Minneapolis resident died by a Fentanyl overdose and not by strangulation.
