Update: George Floyd’s Brother Pausing Lawsuit Against Kanye West, Rapper Claimed Floyd’s Death Was Due To A Drug Overdose & Not Police Brutality

Update #2: (Oct. 26, 2022): Kanye West has a lot of things to be worried about right now, but a lawsuit from George Floyd’s brother is no longer one of them.

According to reports, George Floyd’s brother, Philonise Floyd, has decided that –at the moment — he no longer wishes to move forward with a lawsuit against Kanye for spreading false information about how his sibling died.

Philonise’s lawyer recently revealed that his client is temporarily stepping back from his original threat to bring a lawsuit against Kanye, Candace Owens, and others for pushing the narrative that George died from a fentanyl overdose, instead of being fatally suffocated by former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin.

Reportedly, Philonise has decided to pause the suit because all he wanted was for the “Donda” rapper to stop spreading false narratives about his brother’s death — which has seemingly happened. Kanye has reportedly been complying with the demands made in the cease and desist letter sent on behalf of George’s daughter, Gianna. In addition to that, the podcast episode where Kanye made those false claims has since been pulled, and the host, N.O.R.E., has issued several apologies about the matter.

It’s unclear if a suit will still be filed on behalf of George Floyd’s daughter — where she will reportedly seek over $200 million in damages. However, initial reports claimed she was greatly traumatized by what Kanye had to say about her dad.

Update #1: (Oct. 19, 2022): New details have surfaced in the $250 million lawsuit Kanye West is facing from George Floyd’s daughter.

According to new reports, Candace Owens, N.O.R.E., and Diddy’s Revolt TV could soon be in legal trouble regarding the misinformation that’s being spread about George Floyd’s death.

The legal team representing Floyd’s young daughter, Gianna, is reportedly looking at all possible options when it comes to the controversial comments Kanye made on the now-removed “Drink Champs” episode. The legal team notes that Candace Owens is an obvious would-be codefendant. If you’re unaware, the remarks Kanye made were a direct reflection of false information she’s been spreading and featured in her new anti-Black Lives Matter documentary, “The Greatest Lie Ever Sold.”

Candace Owens has been very vocal that George Floyd’s death was allegedly not due to police brutality but instead a drug overdose. She has also been very adamant that she’s not apologizing for her remarks.

Original Story: (Oct. 18, 2022): Kanye West is, once again, at the center of legal troubles.

Roxie Washington, the mother of George Floyd‘s daughter Gianna, has filed a lawsuit against the rapper known as Ye. She is accusing him of making “false statements” about George Floyd’s death to boost his own brand.

The lawsuit was initiated in response to contentious comments made by Kanye West regarding George Floyd on Drink Champs, in which he asserted that the man’s death was caused by a fentanyl overdose. Medical examiners have determined that Floyd choked to death as a result of Derek Chauvin, a former Minneapolis police officer, kneeling in his neck.

According to Attorney Nuru Witherspoon,

“The interests of the child are priority. George Floyd’s daughter is being traumatized by Kanye West’s comments and he’s creating an unsafe and unhealthy environment for her.”

While the complete interview has since been taken down from Revolt TV and the Drink Champs YouTube channel, clips of the statements have remained online and on social media.

N.O.R.E. (real name Victor Santiago) has since issued an apology to the public and to George Floyd‘s family for the misinformation and negative remarks that Kanye West made on the award-winning podcast.
