Kanye West To Acquire Conservative Social Media Platform Parler, A Company Currently Run By Candace Owens’ Husband, George Farmer
Kanye West is seemingly looking to expand his “power” and his pockets!
Just weeks after restrictions were put on his Twitter and Instagram accounts (for posting anti-Semitic comments), Kanye West reportedly inked a major deal to acquire virtual networking service Parler.

Advertised as a go-to safe space for “freedom of speech,” Parler has received tons of backlash since its initial founding back in 2018. The contentious platform had often been deemed a pro-Trump media sector for the former Republican president’s supporters, right-wingers, and other conspiracists.
Because of its bizarre, cult-like content, and alleged connection to the 2021 United States Capitol attack, Parler was previously banned from both the Apple and Android app stores but is now reinstated after undergoing technical changes.
When speaking of their new venture with Kanye West, Parler’s parent entity, Parlement Technologies, announced in a statement:
“Ye has become the richest Black man in history through music and apparel and is taking a bold stance against his recent censorship from Big Tech, using his far-reaching talents to further lead the fight to create a truly non-cancelable environment.”
Most have labeled the network an “alternative” to Twitter, but the loosely-moderated digital community differs by combatting censorship and the notorious internet term “cancel culture.”
Although specifics of West’s contract with the social giant weren’t disclosed, CEO George Farmer, husband of political commentator Candace Owens, assured that the 45-year-old’s acquisition of Parler would be “groundbreaking” for the world of media.

George Farmer, who obtained his leadership role in the company in May of 2021, expressed,
“[It] will change the world, and change the way the world thinks about free speech. Ye is making a groundbreaking move into the free speech media space and will never have to fear being removed from social media again.”

The “Donda 2” rapper is expected to enter a definitive purchase agreement with Parler and is scheduled to close by the end of the year.
West said in the official press release,
“In a world where conservative opinions are considered to be controversial, we have to make sure we have the right to freely express ourselves.”
As you may know, West’s promotion of his conservative views comes as no surprise. Earlier this month, he and George Farmer’s wife, Owens, were widely criticized for sporting a ‘white lives matter’ shirt amid a Yeezy showcase in Paris.

Additionally, in a recent interview with Drink Champs, the musician-turned-entrepreneur went viral for claiming that police brutality victim George Floyd was not murdered by a cop but instead by an overdose of fentanyl. Following West’s remarks, George Floyd’s family is said to be filing a lawsuit.
