NeNe Leakes Says She Doesn’t Have An Issue w/ Kandi Burruss + Reveals She’s Willing To Talk It Out w/ Bravo Following Her Discrimination Lawsuit Against The Network

NeNe Leakes is letting it be known that, despite what many may think, she has no problems with Kandi Burruss or Bravo.

The former Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA) queen bee revealed the status of her estranged relationships with her former network and ex-cast mate during a recent sit-down interview on Larry Reid Live.

Media personality Larry Reid did not hesitate to ask NeNe Leakes, 54, the burning questions that fans have been debating or wondering since the reality star left RHOA after the 13th season in 2020. One of those questions was related to a seemingly ongoing feud with Kandi Burruss, 46, who is still on the show. The two have previously called out one another for throwing shade online. Most recently, NeNe Leakes was accused of taking shots at the reported lackluster ratings for Kandi Burruss’ spinoff, The Old Lady Gang.

However, the former Glee star insists she has no ill will towards Kandi. In fact, she thinks it’s the other way around.

NeNe said,

“Honestly, I don’t have an issue with Kandi. This is the God honest truth. I really feel she has an issue with me. I am an original housewife. I feel like that was an issue. I feel like I was noticed a lot. I don’t say this.  People say when they think of the ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta,’ they think of NeNe.”

She continued,

“If I saw her, I would speak to her. I just don’t think she likes my presence.”

Since Kandi joined the franchise in 2012 for season 2, she and NeNe have bumped heads on a wide range of topics. The alleged dislike between them was evident during their time together on the reality series and the reunion specials. Their last public blowout was at the virtual season 13 RHOA reunion.

While a little rivalry between co-stars, especially on a reality show, is to be expected, many fans were caught off guard when NeNe had a major fallout with Bravo and Andy Cohen. Since NeNe’s departure from RHOA, she has hurled allegations of racism and mistreatment at the network and the show’s executive producer, Andy Cohen.

According to her lawsuit filed in April 2022, the RHOA production companies created a hostile and racist work environment. Despite the case reportedly being dropped a few months later, NeNe revealed in her recent interview that she is still in litigation with the network.

“We still have some legal things.”

She added,

“Part of it was dropped for a purpose, for us to go into [a] mediation.”

NeNe said that despite the current legal battle with her former network, she has tried to reach out and talk to them. Unfortunately, it’s been “crickets” on their end. While NeNe has stated previously that she would not mind making amends and having a conversation with Andy Cohen and the network, the reality vet said she does not regret filing the lawsuit.

She added,

“It’s almost like a child being abused and I’m over here asking for help over and over, and nobody hears me. I’m asking and asking for help and nobody hears me. I feel like my hands were tied. I asked so many times for help.”

In the lawsuit, NeNe alleged that she complained to production for years about racist remarks made by fellow RHOA alum Kim Zolician-Biermann, but she was ignored until she was pushed off the series in 2020.

“There were so many times, I asked for help, and I just couldn’t get it.”
