One thing is for sure, it’s clear that Takeoff was greatly loved by his family, friends, and fans.

Today (Nov. 11) thousands gathered in Atlanta at the State Farm Arena for a Celebration of Life service for Migos member Takeoff. Reportedly, the venue – which can hold 20,000 people – reached full capacity shortly after tickets became available to the public on Tuesday (Nov. 8). As expected, in addition to the fans that arrived to give Takeoff, born Kirshnik Ball, their final goodbyes, countless celebrities showed up to pay their respects as well.

According to a press release reportedly sent prior to the gathering, there was a “strict no photo and no video policy” inside of the venue. However, that didn’t stop people from recording moments from the emotional service. During the funeral, Drake took the stage to speak about his friendship with Takeoff. The Canadian native reflected on Takeoff’s ability to make him laugh. He shared,

“Whenever he would take his shades off he had this thing about him that I loved. No matter what was going on around us he was like always kind of squinting but like, his eyes were wide open.”

Other video footage that was recorded by fans revealed an emotional Offset asking God for strength. He said,

“Lord, give us the strength…I don’t want to question you God.”

He added,

“I believe in you father.”

“You always with me and we did everything together. Since we was kids you been by my side, looking up at me with them eyes…waiting on me to make the next move and you’d follow right behind me. You always made sure I did it first so you could do it right with me.”

He added,

“You never competed with me. We were always on the same team.”
