Wiz Khalifa’s Ex-Assistant Drops $60K Lawsuit Accusing The Rapper Of Failing To Pay Grocery Bills & Compensate His Overtime

Wiz Khalifa’s ex-assistant has had a change of heart after accusing the rapper of stiffing him.

According to RadarOnline, Wiz Khalifa’s ex-employee, Jason Gonzalez, recently dropped a lawsuit that accused the rapper of failing to compensate him for working overtime. Gonzalez previously filed the suit against Wiz Khalifa, born Cameron Thomaz, in Los Angeles Superior Court. He was said to be a housekeeper and errand-runner for the “Black and Yellow” artist. The lawsuit stated Gonzalez was employed by the 35-year-old rapper from February 2017 to January 2019.

Allegedly, Gonzalez’s line of work included running errands such as picking up medication and dry cleaning. In addition, Gonzalez claimed his estranged boss made him pay for groceries and other expenses out of pocket. However, he said Wiz promised to pay him back for his assistance, including any mileage he put on his car.

The “Young, Wild and Free” artist allegedly failed to compensate Gonzalez the nine thousand dollars spent on out-of-pocket expenses and the $1,700 spent on gas. Wiz allegedly failed to provide his former employee with proper meal breaks as well.

The court documents stated that Gonzalez was wrongfully terminated in retaliation for taking action to be paid properly. Amid being fired, he properly examined his paystubs and allegedly realized he was owed an additional $1,672 in overtime. The lawsuit requested $25,000 for the unpaid overtime plus an extra $25,000 for the improper meal breaks. Gonzalez also demanded his ex-boss pay him another $10,000 for reimbursement for a grand total of $60,000.

Denying the accusations, Wiz said the employee was overpaid based on records his team pulled. He claimed Gonzalez was reimbursed for all “legitimate expenses,” demanding the entire lawsuit be dismissed. It’s unclear why, but before a trial date was set, the ex-assistant dropped the case.
