Lil Baby has been honored in his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia!

The ‘My Turn’ rapper was honored with his own day in the city of Atlanta on Sunday (November 13), with the date now being officially recognized as Dominique “Lil Baby” Jones Day.

Lil Baby – who was born and raised in Atlanta’s Oakland City neighborhood — received a proclamation from the Atlanta City Council at a special ceremony on Sunday. According to reports, the proclamation highlights Lil Baby’s successful Hip-Hop career and impact as a “musical ambassador” for Atlanta, as well as his “generous” philanthropic efforts, including the launch of his For the People Foundation.

The ‘Woah’ rapper has continuously given back to his local community through his foundation, from starting a $100,000 scholarship fund at his alma mater– Booker T. Washington High School– to pledging $1.5 million of the proceeds from his 2020 hit “The Bigger Picture” to underserved neighborhoods.

As previously reported, Lil Baby held his third annual “Back to School Fest” at Atlanta’s West End Mall on Aug. 7. During the event, the ‘Yes Indeed’ rapper and his team provided 3,000 local children with music, games, carnival rides, food, backpacks, school supplies, and haircuts. In September, it was announced the 27-year-old was this year’s recipient of the Quincy Jones Humanitarian Honor at the Black Music Action Coalition Awards Gala.

That’s not the only good deed Lil Baby has done recently. The Atlanta native seemingly dropped a hefty bag on a hairdresser and left her thanking him with eyes full of tears.

In a video making its way around the internet, the hair professional details her experience styling the ‘Drip Too Hard’ artist. Baby apparently stopped at her shop during his current “One Of Them Ones” joint tour with Chris Brown. Choked up by the financial blessing, the hairdresser stated:

“Lil Baby….he took care of me….I literally just took care of his whole entourage and they were so nice and so cool….he paid me and he paid me a substantial amount.”

The woman continues on to share that she’s had a rough couple of months financially. She adds that Baby cleared her financial hardships and then some just being “genuine.” During the video, she also shares that she was blessed by a few of Brown’s people as well, stating:

“He didn’t know any of that…he was just being genuine….I’m so appreciative of him and Chris’s people both of them just took such good care of me….Thank you thank you thank you….I can now go buy my sons school clothes and pay off some stuff.”

Congratulations to Lil Baby for being honored with his own day in Atlanta! What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments below!
