Summer Walker decided to have some fun with her latest song and gave fans a surprise rap debut.

The 26-year-old R&B singer recently stepped away from her usual sound to cook up a ratchet track. On Tuesday (November 22), Summer Walker dropped a new music video for her first-ever rap single “Sense Dat God Gave You,” featuring her rapper friend Sexyy Red.

In the official music video, a very pregnant Summer Walker and Sexxy Red can be seen spitting bars at a gas station while getting snacks, twerking on top of a Honda, and throwing money. Walker raps,

“Bald head scalawag, ain’t got no hair on my cat. If I don’t get my cheese ni**a, 6ix9ine, you can call me a rat. We finna tear down the mall, you know we got a plan. I drop the Perc in his drink and I don’t give a d*mn.”

Although the “Girls Need Love” hitmaker has always stuck to the R&B lane, she noted in her Instagram caption that she’s not a rapper. While explaining the inspiration behind the project, Walker wrote,

“I’m NOT a rapper lmao I just wanted to do hood rat stuff with my friend.”

Fans have since blasted Walker’s comment section with feedback on her latest single.

As previously reported, the songstress lost in several categories during the 2022 American Music Awards on November 20.

Walker missed out on the chance to win Favorite R&B Album and Favorite Female R&B Artist in favor of Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, who also won Favorite R&B Song. While seemingly talking about the AMAs and how they organize their categories, Walker wrote via her IG stories,

“What’s classified as R&B sounds so different in 2022 compared to back in the day. These r&b awards be won by pop songs, hip hop songs, house songs, it’s really interesting.”

She added,
