Robin Roberts Disappointed w/ Disney’s Handling Of T.J. Holmes & Amy Robach ‘Messy’ Affair Scandal, Calls For Firing

Robin Roberts is “furious” about the drama surrounding T.J. Holmes’ affair with Amy Robach.

According to sources, the 62-year-old Good Morning America (GMA) anchor said the “messy” affair between the Good Morning America 3 (GMA3) anchors has “tainted the brand.”  There are even rumors that the 20-year GMA vet suggested the pair be fired.

However, allegedly when Robin Roberts complained to Disney execs about ABC’s poor handling of the incident, the concerns were met with confusion. It seems that “Disney is unsure” of how to approach the issue. In fact, an insider stated that ABC News President Kim Godwin is “hopeless” and more focused on “making sure her best interests are protected” than coming to any real decisions on the matter.

The source further explained why T.J. Holmes, 49, and Amy Robach’s, 49, futures at GMA3 are unclear. They shared,

“There’s been all these stories about T.J being a serial cheater with at least one other affair and hints that there are more. But how can they let him go and keep Amy? They love her and they don’t want to lose her. But imagine the possible backlash if they go down that path.”

They added,

“Letting the black man go and keeping the white woman? It looks like the worst sort of double standard and would leave them wide open to allegations of racism.”

Reportedly, the issue is far more complex than race alone. A third source hinted that there are so many workplace romances going on at the network, that if “Amy and TJ are punished for their affair” ABC will have to “bring a prison bus to the studios to ship out all of the other couples who’re at it.”

There is no official word on what happens next for Amy and T.J., who are reportedly still together. However, the investigation into their affair continues. Furthermore, T.J. is facing increased scrutiny after another workplace romance was discovered.

Former GMA producer Natasha Singh was rumored to have had an affair with TJ Holmes for three years.

The intimate relationship between Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes made headlines in late November. After the news spread, the lovebirds deleted their social media pages. Although they were allowed to continue hosting GMA3 shortly after the incident, they were eventually taken off the air in early December. According to ABC News, it was because of the internal and external “distraction” that their relationship caused, even though it did not violate company policy. In the meantime, Los Angeles-based anchor DeMarco Morgan is filling in for T.J. Holmes.

T.J. joined the historic weekday morning show in 2020. Amy has been a part of the GMA crew since 2014.
