Mary J. Blige Lands New Talk Show ‘The Wine Down’
Mary J. Blige has a new talk show coming soon!
According to new reports, BET signed a first glance non-scripted deal and a second glance scripted deal with Mary J. Blige and her production company, Blue Butterfly. Blue Butterfly Productions is a film, television and digital content company founded in 2019. Along with her partnership with the network, Blue Butterfly signed a first-look scripted television deal with Lionsgate Television.

Mary J. Blige’s first project with BET will be an unscripted series called “The Wine Down,” a talk show hosted by the singer currently in production. The series “will bring together the hottest, most outspoken, highly sought-after people in entertainment, sports, social media, and politics” for “raw, provocative, insightful, and real conversations” over wine. The 51-year-old is the founder of , Sun Goddess, her own wine label, with Italian winemaker Marco Fantinel which launched in 2020.
The “Just Fine” singer will be executive producing “The Wine Down” alongside Blige and her team Ashaunna Ayars, Nicole Jackson, Lisa Erspalmer, John and Jordan Davis of Davis Entertainment. In a statement the “Power Book II: Ghost” actress said:
“BET has been one of my biggest supporters throughout my career. Being able to now create together, for them to be so supportive of my vision for the type of content I will create, is something I am grateful and excited for. We already have multiple projects in the works and there is much more to come.”

Blue Butterfly was the executive producer for her documentary with Amazon Studios “Mary J. Blige’s My Life.” Connie Orlando, EVP of Specials, Music Programming & Music Strategy, BET said:
