Blogger Tasha K, Who Owes Cardi B Millions, Accuses Judge Of Improperly Banning Talk Of Rapper’s Alleged Gang Ties, Seeks New Trial
Tasha K is fighting for a new trial against Cardi B.
As previously reported, YouTuber Tasha K, born Latasha Kebe, was found liable for defamation by a Georgia jury that ordered her to pay Cardi B $1 million in general damages, $250k in medical expenses, $1.5 million in punitive damages and another $1.3 million to cover her legal bills. The 30-year-old Grammy-Award winner accused Tasha K of spreading lies about her on her YouTube series by claiming she had an STD, worked as an escort, and used hard drugs, seemingly affecting the “Bodak Yellow’s” rapper reputation. In addition, Cardi, born Belcalis Cephus, claimed Tasha shared false information about her to increase her ratings and profit.

According to RadarOnline, Tasha K is fighting to get the judgment axed, arguing that the judge overseeing the trial should’ve allowed evidence of Cardi B’s alleged gang affiliation. The blogger has demanded the appellate court withdraw the verdict, as she requests a new trial.
Tasha filed her appeal to the judgment claiming it was improper. In the newly filed documents, Tasha accused the judge overseeing the trial of improperly allowing the exclusion of character evidence. The media personality said months before the trial Cardi B filed a motion demanding evidence of her alleged gang affiliation not be shown to the jury. However, Tasha opposed Cardi’s request, claiming the jury should be notified about the alleged gang ties “because it is an extremely relevant part of who Cardi is.” Tasha said:
“The district court prevented this evidence from coming in.”
A decision has yet to be made on the matter.
