Janet Jackson To Implement ‘MeToo Checks’ & New Rules For ‘Together Again’ Tour To Ensure Team Members ‘Don’t Have A History Of Abuse,’ Insiders Share
It looks like Janet Jackson isn’t taking any chances when it comes to her upcoming tour!
According to reports, the iconic singer will be implementing “MeToo checks” and strict rules for various staff and crew on her “Together Again” tour, which kicks off in April. An insider revealed,
“The checks will see everyone from her dancers and band mates to crew and general staff vetted to ensure they don’t have a history of abuse.”
They continued,
“It’s not cheap to do but for Janet and those close to her, creating a safe and kind work environment is more important than profits.”
The source added that Janet Jackson wants a,
“completely non-toxic working environment for all her staff and by implementing these early checks she is eradicating the risk.”

Maintaining a safe environment seems to be a top priority for the “Rhythm Nation” singer. According to the insider,
“Janet is determined everyone working on the tour can be completely comfortable and that they are in a safe environment.”
It looks like Janet is taking a page out of Beyonce’s book. Back in July, Beyonce revealed she was implementing “MeToo checks” for producers and collaborators on her latest album, “Renaissance,” after a former collaborator was arrested for sexual assault in 2020.
Due to this incident, the multi-Grammy Award winner vetted her collaborators. A source close to the matter said,
“Beyonce was devastated when she found out Detail, one of her past collaborators, was accused of rape and sexual assault. She stopped working with him and her team now run #MeToo checks on any potential collaborators. Two songs from high-profile artists have been rejected because of allegations they are facing.”

Janet Jackson announced the “Together Again” tour in December. The 40-date tour will kick off on April 14 at Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida, and will conclude in Seattle, Washington. The tour will also have rapper/actor Ludacris as Jackson’s special guest.
