Marvin Gaye’s Son Under Investigation For Allegedly Holding His Cousin At Gunpoint
Marvin Gaye’s son may have committed a crime during a “family dispute.”
According to reports, the son of the late Motown legend Marvin Gaye, is being investigated by police for assault after he allegedly pointed a gun at his cousin in his Los Angeles residence. Marvin Gaye III eventually fled the scene in his Corvette before authorities arrived. Law enforcement claims sheriff deputies received a call Thursday evening (Jan. 12) for a dispute between Marvin Gaye III, his wife and cousin, which led them to the late singer’s son’s home.
Once police arrived, they assumed Marvin was present inside of the home, but neighbors assured them that he left. Deputies discussed the incident with Marvin’s relative and took an “assault” report, which labels Marvin as the suspect.
As you may know, Marvin Gaye’s life was cut short years ago involving a family dispute. On April 1, 1984 the Motown legend intervened in a fight between his parents in their family Los Angeles home. He eventually got into a physical altercation with his father, Marvin Gay Sr., who shot Gaye twice, once in the chest, and then into his son’s shoulder, in his bedroom. Gaye died at 44 , one day short of his 45th birthday.
