Funk Flex Unbans Tekashi 6ix9ine’s Music On Radio Show Following Gunna’s Guilty Plea To Racketeering Charge

Radio host Funkmaster Flex has decided to play Tekashi 6ix9ine’s music again following Gunna’s confession to a racketeering conspiracy charge.

According to reports, the radio personality’s decision was seemingly determined by 6ix9ine’s latest post. In the video clip, the controversial rap star is seen going through piles of cash he says totals $1M near a private aircraft, unafraid of any potential threats he may encounter as he traveled back to the East Coast. Funk Flex, 54, re-shared the video and captioned the post,

WHAT EVERYONES OPINION?”

Reportedly, Funk Flex banned 6ix9ine back in 2021 after he previewed his “ZAZA” single. However, the longtime HOT 97 DJ ultimately refused to play the track after the 26-year-old New York artist flipped on his former crew, Nine Trey gang, in the hopes of a reduced sentence.

In the post, Funk Flex seemingly gave his respect to Bobby Shmurda, Rowdy Rebel, Fetty Wap, Boosie Badazz, and Young Thug as the last batch of rappers who don’t give statements or make deals with law enforcement. The post comes amid snitching allegations aimed toward Gunna, 29, who was recently unfollowed on Instagram by his collaborator, fellow rapper Lil Baby, 28.

Lil Baby

As you may already know, in May 2022, Gunna, real name Sergio Kitchens, and fellow rapper Young Thug, born Jeffery Williams, were among 28 individuals associated with the alleged criminal street gang YSL who were charged in a 56-count Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) indictment.

Gunna ultimately entered a negotiated plea, also known as an Alford plea, in which he pleaded guilty on one charge because it was in his best interest while maintaining his innocence on the same charge. Gunna was sentenced to five years, with one year commuted to time served. The rapper’s four-year remaining balance on his sentence has been suspended and subjected to special conditions, including completing 500 hours of community service.

Gunna

As previously reported, since Gunna’s release, many have speculated that he snitched on Young Thug in order to be set free. It’s unclear if those rumors are true but Atlanta rapper Lil Baby, born Dominique Jones, may think so. On Sunday (January 14), fans noticed that Lil Baby unfollowed Gunna on Instagram.

When Gunna was released from prison in December, he issued a statement announcing that he did not cooperate with law enforcement. He said,

“While I have agreed to always be truthful, I want to make it perfectly clear that I have NOT made any statements, have NOT been interviewed, have NOT cooperated, have NOT agreed to testify or be a witness for or against any party in the case and have absolutely NO intention of being involved in the trial process in any way.”
