Eddie Murphy Hilariously Jokes That Martin Lawrence “Will Be Paying” If Their Children Get Married: And It Better Be Wonderful
Famed actor Eddie Murphy says it’s Martin Lawrence’s turn to pay up.
During a recent interview, the decorated entertainer set the record straight on who will be covering wedding expenses should their children tie the knot.

As previously reported, celebrity children Jasmin Lawrence, 27, and Eric Murphy, 33, shared their dating journey publicly back in July of 2021. Posting a tribute to the Murphy son on his then birthday, Jasmine wrote:
“Happy birthday, my love! I’m so incredibly blessed to know you, to love you, and to have you by my side. Cheers to many more blessings, laughs, and beautiful memories! I love you so much!!”

Eric also penned a sweet message to his love on social media, cementing the two being an exclusive pair. It seems all has been going well for the young couple.Of course, media began speculating who could possibly be paying for the nuptials if the two celebrity kids get hitched. In June of last year, one interviewer flat out asked the question to Lawrence. The “Bad Boys” star jokingly stated:
“I’m gonna try to get Eddie to pay for it.”
Murphy on the other hand, says that’s not how things work. The “You People” star shred that he just paid for his own daughter’s wedding, and expects the same thing from his “Life” co-star. Murphy joked:
“That’s not how it goes…don’t try to switch it up…you paying for the wedding. If it goes down, Martin is paying.”
Adding:
“And it better be wonderful.”

It’s unclear how long Jasmin and Eric have been dating, or if they plan to hear wedding bells ringing in the future. Between both of their famous father’s though, it’s sure to be a beautiful event!
