McDonald’s Set To Launch Plant-Based McNuggets
If you’re vegan, you’re going to be lovin’ this!
McDonald’s will be adding another plant-based menu item soon, which may cause controversy for foodies who believe fast food isn’t intended to be healthy. The Chicago-based fast food chain will be introducing plant-based McNuggets next week. McDonald’s new vegan nuggets will be co-developed with Beyond Meat, a California-based maker of plant-based meats. The nuggets will be made from peas, corn, and wheat with a tempura batter.

Germany will be the first country to test and market the company’s new add-on. This will be the second plant-based menu item that McDonald’s has offered since the McPlant burger in 2021. The McPlant burger will appear in the Golden Arches in Germany next week as well.
According to McDonald’s, the McPlant nuggets and burger availability in future markets will depend on customer demand. In the United States, the McPlant burger was axed off the menu last summer without any notice of when it will be added back. However, the vegan burger is now a permanent menu item in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Austria, and the Netherlands.
As you may know, hip-hop’s favorite couple Cardi B and Offset appeared in a Super Bowl Mcdonald’s advertisement announcing their new meal with the food giant on Sunday (Feb. 12). Their McDonald’s meal includes two burgers, a large fry to share, beverages and an apple pie.

McDonald’s isn’t the only fast food chain trying out a healthier menu.
As previously reported, Chick-fil-A released a new cauliflower sandwich on Feb. 13 for a limited time in three cities: Denver; Charleston, South Carolina; and the Greensboro-Triad region in North Carolina. This new sandwich is the chicken chain’s first-ever plant-based sandwich. Despite the sandwich being made from a “tender filet cut” of cauliflower marinated and breaded in Chick-fil-A’s seasoning, the restaurant isn’t labeling their new addition as vegan-friendly due to milk and eggs being included in the ingredients.
