‘RHOSLC’ Star Jen Shah Reports To Prison To Begin 6.5 Year Sentence For Wire Fraud

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Jen Shah has officially reported to prison.

Jen Shah is currently being processed for intake at the federal prison where she arrived to serve her sentence for a telemarketing scheme.

On Friday (Feb. 17), Jen arrived  at FPC Bryan in Bryan, Texas to begin her 6.5 years behind bars.

On Thursday ( Feb. 16) Jen’s attorney Priya Chaudhry issued the following statement:

“Jen Shah’s resolve to make her victims whole and to turn her life around is unyielding. She is committed to serving her sentence with courage and purpose, fueled by her desire to make amends for the hurt she has caused and to help others in her new community. No obstacle will deter Jen from making the most of her time in prison and she’s determined to make restitution to those whose lives she has impacted.”

The statement continued,

“Her path ahead will be filled with challenges, but with the unwavering love and support of her family and friends, Jen is prepared to face these challenges head-on and emerge from this experience a better person who makes a positive impact on others.”

As previously reported, last month, the Bravo entertainer was sentenced to 6.5 years in prison after pleading guilty to participating in a telemarketing scheme. Reportedly Shah, 49, targeted and scammed millions of dollars from (mostly) elderly individuals.

She was also ordered to forfeit $6,500,000, luxury and counterfeit luxury items, and pay $6,645,251 in restitution. While the entertainer initially maintained her innocence and declared intentions to “fight” the case, Shah eventually changed her mind and switched to a guilty plea. Her stance may have changed after news broke that she was initially facing a possible 14 years in prison and a $9 million restitution payment.

Once released from prison, Jen Shah will also receive five years of supervision,

“to make sure you don’t end up committing another crime.”

Shah apologized for her actions upon her sentencing.

“I am sorry. My actions have hurt innocent people. I want to apologize by saying, I am doing all I can to earn the funds to pay restitution.”

The reality star also addressed her younger son and her late father:

“To my baby Omar, Mommy is so sorry you were woken up at gunpoint. My late father, I want to tell him I am sorry. I am humbled by your love for me.”
