Drake Loses $400K After Betting On Jake Paul, Boxer Suffers First Loss Of His Pro Career

Drake and Jake Paul recently took an (expensive) L!

On Sunday (Feb. 26) YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul was defeated by Tommy Fury. Reportedly, this match marked Jake Paul’s first loss in his professional career, bringing his pro record to 6-1. Tommy Fury’s record is now 9-0.

Many have been left shocked by Jake Paul being defeated, including Drake. The Canadian rapper was seemingly very confident in Jake Paul’s constant winning streak, so much so that he placed a $400,000 bet on the boxer.

On Sunday (Feb. 26) Paul took to Instagram to address the loss. He joking said:

“Uh well, sh*t!”

He added:

“Didn’t think I’d ever have to make one of these videos but sh*t happens I guess. This is still the best job in the world. Thank you all for the support this was an amazing event and I’ll be back. No worries, cuz.”

During a post-fight press conference, Paul jokingly blamed Drake for his lastest L, pinning the defeat on the infamous “Drake curse.”

He said:

“F*ck! This is Drake’s fault. Drake bro, why did you do this to me?”

 Paul added:

“Nah, it’s my fault. $400,000 is nothing to him. He’s won a lot more money betting on me before, so he’s about even now. Sorry Drake, I am going to get that W in the rematch.”

Drake, 36, may have lost thousands of dollars, but he’s no rookie at making big bets on sporting events. Last November, the 6 God lost two million dollars after betting on a UFC match against Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira. As previously reported, in a now-deleted Instagram post, he captioned his ticket:

“been focused on the album gotta get back to stacking up.”
