Metro Boomin Says He Is ‘Definitely’ Dropping A Joint Album w/ Future This Year

Metro Boomin has some good news for his fans!

During a recent interview, the record producer revealed that he’s planning on dropping a joint album with longtime friend and collaborator, Future. The chances of the album dropping this year are pretty high according to Metro Boomin.

He said,

“Definitely. I would bet on it. I would definitely bet on it.”

When asked how he felt performing on stage alongside Future at the State Farm Arena in January, Metro said,

“Oh, that was fire. You know, Pluto, that’s my brother. We’ve been at it for a long time. This whole superhero moment, it’s like the beginning of our phase two.”

He continued,

‘We haven’t had a song out since ‘Mask Off,’ they’ve been on our heads. With this, and then the whole State Farm thing, it’s starting to slowly put people on notice: we crankin’ that sh*t back up too.”

Metro Boomin and Future recently teamed up for the producer’s latest album Heroes & Villain, in which the Atlanta rapper was featured on several songs, officially ending their five-year collaborative drought.

The duo has previously worked together on a number of hit records including, “Mask Off,” “Jumpman,” “Thought It Was a Drought,” “Karate Chop,” “Digital Dash,” “Low Life,” “Freak H*e,” “Big Rings,” and “Stick Talk.”

The hit producer recently sold Shamrock Capital a part of his publishing catalog for close to $70 million.

The acquisition of Metro Boomin‘s catalog comes as Shamrock continues to make significant investments in catalog sales, expanding a portfolio that already contains the master recordings for Taylor Swift‘s first six albums, which it purchased from Scooter Braun‘s Ithaca Holdings in 2020.
