Karrueche Tran Speaks On Her New Look & Why She Decided To Cut Her Hair: ‘It Was Time For Me To Let Go Of A Lot Of Old Energy’

Karrueche Tran recently spoke on her decision to opt for a new look and why she decided to cut her hair off.

On March 19, actress/model Karrueche Tran uploaded a series of flicks via Instagram and shared the reason why she decided to cut off her long locks. In a heartfelt post, the “Bel-Air” star revealed that she cut and released her hair into the ocean, along with some of her father’s ashes.

Karrueche Tran, 34, wrote,

“shoutout to @cesar4styles for this haircut.

life is really LIFING right now and it was time for me to let go of a lot of old energy.. I’ve always wanted to cut my hair short short but never had the balls to do it.. I feel like a weight has been lifted.. I feel so free and I honestly love it.. being able to release my hair in the ocean along w some of my dads ashes was magical.. a full circle moment as my dad was also a hairstylist lol”

Acknowledging her hair stylist, the socialite added,

“Cesar, thank you for being so gentle and patient with me.. I appreciate you so much.. Out with the old, in with the new”

Referencing the last photo in the carousel in which she posed for a mirror selfie with her new haircut, Karrueche concluded the caption by writing in parentheses,

“last pic was our first round haircut lol” 

Karrueche’s hair stylist, Cesar Ramirez, responded to the moving post and said,

“I felt soo honored when @karrueche choose me to be apart of this transformative healing moment. Hair is vessel which holds onto energy. Everyday I feel blessed to be the one to handles that energy for so many of my clients. Remember Stylist what we do is so much deeper then hair, won’t ever take that for granted”

As previously reported, on January 23, Karrueche revealed that her dad passed away. The Emmy-Award-winner tends to be private about her personal life, however, in a text post previously shared via her IG stories, Karrueche let her fans know that things have been “tough” since she received the unfortunate news. She wrote,

“The past seven days have been tough.. Receiving the call I always feared.. Making decisions I wasn’t prepared for.. Being at Sundance which is something I prayed for.. Trying to celebrate my accomplishments while in pain.. Feeling so many emotions all at once and at the same time feeling numb.”

Karrueche continued to grieve by posting a series of memories she shared with her father. In one of the images, the daughter-dad-duo rocked similar all-black outfits. She captioned the post,

“Rest in paradise dad.”
