XXXTentencion’s Accused Killers Found Guilty Of First-Degree Murder

The three men accused of killing XXXTentencion have been found guilty of first-degree murder.

According to reports, prosecutors have requested life sentences for Michael Boatwright, 28 years old, Dedrick Williams, 26 years old, and Trayvon Newsome, 24 years old. Boatwright, Newsome, and Williams were each charged with first-degree murder and armed robbery. They were found guilty on both of those charges by the jury today (Mar.20).

A fourth suspect, Robert Allen, was also charged in connection to the shooting, but pleaded guilty to a second-degree murder charge last year and agreed to testify against his co-defendants.

As you may recall, XXXTentacion (real name Jahseh Onfroy) was shot and killed in June 2018 after he was ambushed during an apparent robbery as he was leaving a motorsports store. Witnesses claim that after the fatal shooting of the rapper, one of the men stole a Louis Vuitton bag filled with cash from his car before leaving the scene.

Boatwright is accused of being the shooter, while his friend, Newsome is accused of being the other gunman. Williams is accused of being the driver. Allen told the court he remained in the SUV while Newsome stole XXXTentacions jewelry and a Louis Vuitton bag containing $50,000 in cash.

Defense attorneys accused Allen of being a liar who was motivated by his desire to avoid a life sentence. They also said prosecutors and detectives did a poor investigation that didn’t look at other possible suspects, including Drake, who had an alleged beef with XXXTentacion.

As previously reported, prior to his death, the “Sad!” rapper took to social media and said,

“If anyone tries to kill me, it was @champagnepapi [Drake]. I’m snitching right now”

However, he later retracted the statement claiming his account had been hacked.

Lead prosecutor Pascale Achille presented video footage and cell phone data that linked the suspects to the fatal shooting. She also showed the jury a number of social media posts in which the suspects showed off some cash just hours after XXXTentacion’s death.

Achille said in court,

“This is who they are. This is their real character. Killers that within 24 hours after shooting the victim dead and stealing $50,000 from him, this is what they do. Look at how happy they look. Look at how excited they look.”

The three men are set to be sentenced on Thursday, April 6.
