Rapper 42 Dugg Seemingly Denies Reports That He’s Facing Five Additional Years In Prison After Pleading Guilty To A Failure To Surrender Charge
Detroit rhymer 42 Dugg has come to set the record straight.
On Wednesday (Mar. 22), it was reported that 42 Dugg recently went before the court and entered a deal on his failure to surrender charge.

According to initial reports, 42 Dugg’s legal team reneged on the not-guilty plea and chose the guilty route instead. Although the prosecutors are (allegedly) leaning toward a six-month sentencing (based on the “We Paid” lyricist’s admission of the crime), it is said that Dugg could still catch up to five additional years behind bars. The 28-year-old’s negotiation also reportedly outlined a 30-day inpatient drug treatment program upon release, along with a 30-day outpatient program.
His proceedings seemingly trace back to a 2019 incident, where the already-convicted felon violated his firearm prohibition while visiting an Atlanta gun range. Dugg was given 36-month probation and ordered to pay a $90,000 fine but later found himself in hot water again for fleeing from the cops during a traffic stop.
In May 2022, as a result of many run-ins with the law, officials arrested Dugg after he avoided turning himself in for the incarceration stint to a federal prison camp. Additionally, documents showed that–a month earlier–he filed himself as a “sovereign citizen” to attempt to opt out of having to serve the time.

However, though currently in lockup, it appears that Dugg has since taken to his social media to clear the air about the rumors of a five-year add-on.
In his Instagram stories, the CMG signee simply wrote,
“CAP.”

As of now, no further words have been spoken from the rap star or his team.
Born Dion Marquise Hayes in Detroit, Michigan, 42 Dugg rose to prominence after his chart-topping feature on Lil Baby’s 2020 track “Grace.” Admired for his melodic flow, he has successfully made a name for himself in music–hit after hit.
