Halle Berry & Ex-Husband Oliver Martinez Hire Private Judge To Rule In Ongoing Divorce Settlement Nearly 8 Years After Split

Actress Halle Berry is seemingly ready to leave her previous marriage behind.

According to a report from Radar Online, the movie star and her ex husband Oliver Martinez are finishing up their divorce matters and hired a private judge to help.

Oliver Martinez, Halle BerryJudge Roy Paul and his assistant have reportedly been retained by the former couple at $300/hr to rule on the remaining issues that are part of the divorce settlement. Halle Berry, 56, and Oliver Martinez, 57, wedded back in 2013 before splitting three years later. They share a 9-year-old son named Maceo, and signed documents with intent to finally resolve all remaining issues last month.

Reportedly, Judge Paul will decide “all matters until the final determination of the case subject to the deadline stated below.” Specifics of what “matters” need to be resolved have not been shared as part of the report. However, it’s suspected that asset division is the major cause for the coming court appointment.

According to previous reports, Berry initially stated the two signed a prenup before marrying. However, it was later discovered that the agreement was never filed in court. Berry and Martinez reportedly settled on a custody agreement early on but left the division of assets for a later date. It seems the entertainers are now ready to finally move on.

The urgency could possibly be prompted by Berry’s recent romance. As we previously reported, the Oscar award winning actress has been head over heels for musician Van Hunt. The pair have been dating since 2020 and seems to have been going strong since.

Neither Berry nor Martinez have commented publicly about the court case at this time.
