It looks like Kanye West if facing yet another lawsuit!
Two former Donda Academy teachers are suing Kanye West, his school and its directors for racial discrimination and wrongful termination.
Cecilia Hailey and Chekarey Byers claim in legal documents that they were discriminated against based on their race, had wages illegally held and were terminated in March 2023 in retaliation for reporting code violations.
Hailey, who has over twenty-five years of experience in the educational field claims that she discovered multiple health and safety violations at Donda Academy. Hailey also stated that there were several “unlawful educational practices” taking place at the school.
Hailey reporteedly brought these violations to the director and principal of the school, Moira Love, on at least three separate occasions, however, nothing was ever done to resolve the problem. In the legal filing, Hailey claims that Donda Academy was not following state regulations when it came to
“students in need of educational services, additional testing, or individualized learning plans.”

The two teachers also felt that Donda Academy lacked the necessary requirements to operate as a “proper school.” For example, they claim that the school lacks janitorial services, nursing staff, or staff trained to provide proper medical care if needed.
They also claim that Kanye West did not believe in having a cleaning staff for the school because he did not want to use cleaning products that contain chemicals. Instead, both teachers claim in the lawsuit that they were only allowed to clean with acid water and microfiber cloths.
Making matters worse, the two teachers claim that students were not allowed to bring outside food or water onto the school grounds. In fact, the two teachers claim that the only lunch available for students to eat was sushi every single day of the week. Kanye allegedly spent $10,000 per week on sushi.
Additionally, the teachers allege that the Yeezy fashion designer prohibited “crossword puzzles” and “coloring sheets” for students to use. They also claimed that the rapper would not allow classes to take place on the second floor because he was reportedly afraid of stairs.
In another wild claim, they also allege that students were not allowed to use forks or utensils, all cups and bowls had to be the color gray, he did not allow color in the classrooms or artwork to be hung on the walls. Teachers and students were not allowed to wear jewelry, and they had to wear all-black from head-to-toe. Only clothes designed by Kanye West himself were allowed to be worn in school.
Instead of listening to the complaints and creating a solution, the director reportedly called both teachers “aggressive in the presence of others.” The lawsuit states,
“Plaintiffs believe this type of comment facilitates stereotypes about African-American women as being confrontational simply for doing their job and voicing their legitimate concerns in order to provide a safe environment and proper education for their students.”
Both teachers were terminated in March 2023. They believe it was in retaliation for reporting the alleged unlawful and unsafe educational practices.
“No action was taken to remedy plaintiffs’ complaints regarding sanitation, health, safety or education standard pursuant to local and state law, which plaintiffs made throughout the entirety of their employment.”
The two former Donda Academy teachers are now suing for unpaid wages and emotional distress.
