DJ Akademiks Reacts To Criticism For Signing Deal w/ Controversial Right-Wing Streaming Platform Rumble: ‘I’m Still Violating Any Of Y’all, Who Even Breathe Wrong At Me’
Media personality DJ Akademiks has signed an exclusive streaming deal with the controversial right-wing video-sharing platform Rumble!
Rumble is a site that brands itself as “immune to cancel culture.” The platform hosts right-wing figures such as Dinesh D’Souza, Dan Bongino, and Sean Hannity, as well as the Donald Trump-owned platform Truth Social.
According to the press release, DJ Akademiks will,
“livestream exclusively on Rumble three to five days a week.”
The Jamaican-American podcaster will cover the latest in hip-hop music along with a “satirical take on top headlines.”
In the press release, DJ Akademiks shared his excitement about joining the platform:
“I look forward to being one of the first to bring music and cultural conversations to a platform like Rumble. There have been many bad decisions at larger platforms where they haven’t put creators first and they are disconnected to the community. I feel now is an inflection point for streaming platforms. I couldn’t be more excited to lead this effort on a platform that puts creators first.”

Rumble Chairman and CEO Chris Pavlovski had this to say about Akademiks joining the streaming platform:
“Akademiks is one of the most influential personalities in the hip hop and cultural world. Having him on Rumble sends a big statement to the other platforms on how serious we are in getting into different channels of content, from sports to music to culture.”
Since the announcement, DJ Akademiks has received lots of criticism for joining Rumble. It appears the media personality got sick of his naysayers and decided to fire back. Earlier today (Apr. 11) Akademiks took to Twitter and wrote:
“All y’all hop hop ni**as keep it cute.. cuz when I start bombing on y’all for 365 days straight y’all claim I’m obsessed and do too much. I’m still the same Ni**a ain’t nothing change but where I’m finna stream. I’m still violating any of y’all.. who even breathe wrong at me.”

“Matter of fact lemme record a Off The Record pod bout sum sh*t.. ain’t finna be tweeting back n forth wit u b*tch ass Ni**as … be out in a few hours.. imma check some of these lil ni**as. Oh yeah and still stream later on rumble.”

Rumble was founded in October 2013 and is described as,
“a high-growth neutral video platform…creating the rails and independent infrastructure designed to be immune to cancel culture.”
