Former Nickelodeon Star Drake Bell Found Safe Hours After Police Report Him ‘Missing & Endangered’

Looks like the family of actor Drake Bell was put through the wringer recently.

According to reports, the Nickelodeon alum was reported missing by Daytona Beach Police earlier today (April 13th), with the post suggesting the entertainer could be in immediate danger.

A Facebook post from the department’s official page initially read:

“MISSING

Officers are looking for Jared Bell, DOB 06/27/1986.

He should be traveling in a 2022 grey BMW and his last known location is potentially the area of Mainland High School on 4/12/2023 just before 9p.m.

He is considered missing and endangered.”

Social media users quickly called into question the seriousness of the post, which prompted authorities to respond to their concerns. In the notice, Jared ‘Drake‘ Bell, 36, was said to have been driving a gray 2022 BMW and hadn’t been seen or heard from since 9 p.m. yesterday. There are no further details explaining why police thought the TV star’s life was endangered. However, an update from the department shared that Bell has been found, and they have been in contact with him.

Reportedly, the Drake & Josh star was spending the day at SeaWorld Orlando with his son on Tuesday (April 11th). One witness reportedly stated that he saw the actor there and greeted him, expressing how much of a fan he is. Bell is said to have been kind and soft-spoken and didn’t seem to be afraid or in danger.

It’s speculated that Bell’s rocky past or estranged marriage could have prompted the recent concern. Reportedly, Bell and his wife Janet Von Schmeling, who he shares his young son with, have been separated since January. The pair reportedly started dating in 2013 and wed in 2018. Ahead of the separation, it’s reported the actor had entered a treatment program after he was seen “huffing balloons” while his child was in the backseat. It does not seem Bell has spoken publicly about the incident, and police have reportedly not released any other information at this time.

Drake isn’t the only Nickelodeon child star to undergo mental health assistance recently. As reported earlier this week, actress Amanda Bynes is seemingly in good spirits following an alarming psychotic break. The 37-year-old was reportedly taken in for treatment last month after she was found walking around L.A. naked and alone. It was reported that following her recent release, Bynes is “determined to get back to her day-to-day life.”
