Nelly & Ashanti Dating Again? Pair Spotted Holding Hands & Performing Together [VIDEO]

It’s never too late to “spin the block.” Nelly and Ashanti might be living proof of that!

Celebrated singer Ashanti was recently spotted with rap phenomenon Nelly, but does this mean the once-romantic pair are dating… again?

As you may know, Nelly and Ashanti became a popular item back in the early 2000s. Reportedly, the two’s love connection commenced in 2003, and they were (seemingly) on and off for a little over a decade before officially calling it quits.

Following the breakup, Ashanti addressed the controversial split in an interview, vaguely alluding that she’d been “betrayed” by Nelly.

When asked about dealing with a lack of trust in relationships, she expressed,

“I think, sometimes, when people have their own insecurities, it allows them to act out of character. You know? I’ve been betrayed, and I feel like… again, you just have to grow. You have to grow up; you have to accept [responsibility] for the things that you do. You know, I’m not a big fan of people being cowards, you know what I mean? So, I think that it’s just really important to know yourself and understand what you want and get it. You know, I’m in a different place right now.”

While many have suspected that infidelity on Nelly’s part caused the old lovebirds to go their separate ways, the exact reason for the ex-couple’s departure has never been publicly (nor directly) stated. However, in a sit-down with The Breakfast Club, Ashanti did indicate to hosts Charlamagne tha God, DJ Envy, and Angela Yee that they’d both made mistakes throughout the duration of their union.

Now, just months after admitting that she and Nelly are finally “in a better place,” over the weekend, the 42-year-old and the “Country Grammar” icon were captured holding at the Davis-Garcia fight in Las Vegas!

As if that wasn’t enough to get the fans in a frenzy, in addition to their fight-night outing, they also performed their 2008 hit “Body on Me” together not too long ago.

If you remember, a video of Ashanti grinding against Nelly (who ended things with his longtime girlfriend Shantel Jackson in 2021) on stage initially sparked speculation online that they’d made amends last year.

Following the clip, in response to the hoopla surrounding it, Ashanti detailed that she and the 48-year-old were now on good terms and hinted that the possibility of getting back together (might’ve) been on the table.

Of course, the latest sighting of the former lovers “boo’d up” has garnered a lot of attention in the internet streets, with a number of mixed opinions of Ashanti and Nelly’s suspected rekindle.

A user wrote:

“Nelly and Ashanti back together? I’m normally an advocate for leaving n*ggas in the past for life… but I’m kinda here for this.”

Another individual added,

“Irv [Gotti’s] antics got Ashanti and Nelly back together. Love that for them.”
