Former ‘RHOA’ Star Kim Zolciak Files For Divorce From Husband Kroy Biermann After 11 Years Of Marriage

It looks like yet another reality tv couple are calling it quits.

Kim Zolciak has filed for divorce from her husband Kroy Biermann after 11 years of marriage.

According to TMZ, ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta‘ star listed the couple’s date of separation as April 30.

Kim Zolciak cited the marriage as being “irretrievably broken with no hope of reconciliation.” She’s asking for primary physical custody of the kids and joint legal custody. Kim also wants spousal support and to legally restore her maiden name.

Kim and Kroy met at a charity event back in May 2010, when he was an NFL star playing for the Atlanta Falcons. Their relationship was featured on ‘RHOA‘ and they tied the knot on Nov. 11, 2011. The Bravo cameras captured the moment for the RHOA spinoff Don’t Be Tardy for the Wedding, which premiered in 2012. The show’s title was later changed to Don’t Be Tardy and aired for eight seasons before it was canceled in 2021.

The reality star and the former NFL player share four children together: 11-year-old Kroy “KJ” Jr., 10-year-old Kash Kade and 9-year-old twins Kaia Rose and Kane Ren. Kroy also adopted Kim’s daughters, Brielle and Ariana.

News of the couple’s divorce comes on the heels of their financial woes. As previously reported, Kim and Kroy owe $1.1 million to the IRS in unpaid taxes, interest and penalties from 2013, 2017, and 2018. They also owe the state of Georgia $15,000 for unpaid taxes from 2018.

According to Radar Online, the IRS filed a federal tax lien against the couple on April 11. The lien accused the Biermann’s of owing $103,564.48 for 2013, $330,126.29 for 2017, and $714,143.90 for 2018 with the grand total coming to $1,147,834.67. The IRS warned the lien will be placed against all property owned by the Biermann family.

Neither Kim nor Kroy have spoken out amid news of their divorce.
