Safaree Seemingly Retracts Statement & Claims People Are “Reaching” After Hinting That Ex Nicki Minaj Is The One That Got Away

Safaree recently reflected on his dating life and hinted that he’s still not over his former long-term girlfriend, Nicki Minaj. 

In a new interview, the 41-year-old rapper sat down with Rashad Mooreman to discuss dating, sex, leaked photos, and more. During their chat, the interviewer casually asked Safaree, full name Safaree Samuels, if there was one woman he could say got away.

The reality TV star laughed and said,

“That’s a good question. D*mn!” 

Safaree went on,

“I wouldn’t say one that got away but, you know, sometimes when I look back at my life and certain situations — and now that I see the amount of things that I’ve been through just when it comes to breaking up. You look back and say, ‘D*mn, maybe you know, we could’ve got through that.’”

“Care to name?” 

Safaree chuckled and responded,

“I’ll give a hint. We were together for a very long time.”

If you didn’t already know, Safaree and rap star Nicki Minaj, 40, dated from 2000 until their break up in 2014. During their nearly 15-year relationship, the “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” star allegedly worked on several of Nicki Minaj’s albums, including; “Pink Friday,” “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded,” and “The Pinkprint.”

However, following the interview clip making its rounds online, Safaree took to the comment section to seemingly deny any claims that he was referring to his ex-girlfriend Nicki Minaj. He wrote,

“Reaching.”
